I have known Niels since our time at the Sint-Jozefscollege in Izegem and studied together with him at the Ghent University. As editor in chief, he laid the foundation for the student magazine which I would later take over. During our shared time on the board I got to know Niels as a trustworthy and valuable co-worker, who always succeeded in lightening the mood in times of stress. He left me a healthy and well run magazine and ensured a smooth transition when he left the board of our student association. Even after his departure, he continued to be available for tips and advice and I could always count on his help whenever needed.
