Working with a group of volunteers we ensured a smooth operation of the 30th edition of the Rakkautta & Anarkiaa film festival. Escher in Het Paleis is a museum featuring the works of the Dutch graphical artists M.C. Escher. It is located in a protected heritage site, the former royal residence of Queen Emma and had 150.000 visitors in 2017. I managed all daily operations of the museum including security, climate control, first aid, digital exhibitions as well as directing the team of attendants. During my working years the number of visitors grew significantly and I contributed in developing and professionalizing the systems and processes of the museum. Furthermore I contributed in making the museum more sustainable and also participated in several networks of The Hague museums. I got recognition for being a reliable, creative and enthusiastic team member. Finishing an exhibition and presenting it for the public to enjoy was always a proud moment. The sense of teamwork “we did that” is very fulfilling. Art cannot be made alone, or without a “Can do” mentality. Building 'Zilverkamer' with Natasha Johns Messenger my contact at Saint-Gobain thought we were crazy when he saw our order for mirrored glass panels. After she won 1st prize at the sculpture festival, I got him to book an event at the museum to show all his clients the amazing installation built with their product. Show less

Advised pharmacies on drug coverage by healthcare insurance policies. Investigating a ticket at the Administration department I noticed that they had to type the entire client code to bring up any details out of the system. A quick check showed that the system-search accepted wildcards. Instead of typing 20+ characters they could use 7, and get clearer results. Technical Support Installations

nl.tree was an internet company that was tendered to supply internet connections to all schools in the Netherlands. I started at the helpdesk providing IT support for these schools. As a new employee on the helpdesk I noticed a lot of problematic tickets on new installations. The installations department was too busy to answer our questions, which led to more tickets, etc. To get answers for my clients I made a list and stopped by ‘Installations’ once a week with a big smile and 2 coffee’s. A deal was struck, 10 minutes now and I leave you alone until next week. My clients got their answers and Installations could work in peace. Soon I was handling all problematic tickets at the helpdesk and not long after I was promoted to the Installations department to oversee all new installations. Show less

GamePoint was the first online gaming network in The Netherlands. We hosted multiplayer servers for games like Quake & Halflife. This being the pre-internet era our users had to dial into our network with their home modems. I provided customer support and produced information systems that taught users to configure win95 / WinXP to connect to our network and later on the internet. Furthermore I organized and coordinated commercial events, like 'Milannium' the biggest commercial LAN-party in the Netherlands at the time which drew over 600 attendees.
