• Co-Founded the 501(c)(3) nonprofit advocacy organization, Forrest Stump (www.ForrestStump.org), with the mission of promoting equitable access to physical activity for individuals with disabilities. (EIN: 83-1177845)• Directed a two-month, 1,500 mile triathlon and awareness campaign down the West Coast to call attention to the discriminatory, outdated health insurance policies that restrict access to physical activity for amputees by denying appropriate prosthetic technology. Fundraised over $50,000 to complete the campaign.• Led a national speaking tour, traveling coast to coast to deliver 40 talks in 26 cities and 14 states to thousands of individuals at K-12 schools, colleges, universities, corporations, and nonprofits to educate and recruit advocates to the cause. Largest audience was to over 1,000+ people and received numerous standing ovations.• Launched a disability rights campaign on the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) called #WeJustFeltLikeRunning, translating our cause into a policy paper, petition, and call to action for Congress: The Rights of Americans With Disabilities To Exercise. Over 630 individuals across the country participated and garnered nearly 10,000 signatures on the petition.• Recognized with the Mohamed Amin Award for Humanitarian Service at the 2020 AAOPAcademy Meeting and Scientific Symposium.• Received recognition and a signed poster from actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks.
