    • Commercial YA Fantasy/Adventure Writer
      • Jun 2009 - Present

I have spent 10+ years editing, critiquing, learning, and revising within and beyond the span of a YA fantasy-adventure four book series that walked into my life and mind-melded with me until I was perpetually bound to its reality. Within these years, I've also dabbled in children's books, poetry, and editing translations of folk and fairy tales to help them be more accessible to an English audience. I have sought agents before and gone into more in depth edits for my first novel. I learn so much from my own beta readers and every draft makes me glad I decided to try one more time. My series is best explained as a somewhat darker crossworlds Avatar TLA (15 yr/o kids, elemental powers, martial arts) fantasy and involves various ethnicities and neurotypes! Publications include co-translated folklore from the Caucasus Regions of this world, a solo retelling of a fairytale from Azerbaijan, and an ongoing co-written web-comic called "The Shepherd's Saga" on Webtoons, Tapas, and Instagram. I also participate in short writing challenges on my writing challenges Instagram, which I am in the process of also publishing to Wattpad. Show less

    • Retail Sales Leader
      • Mar 2019 - Present

This job teaches me how to make a company thrive—be unique. You don't approach Hallmark retail like you would approach retail in most other places. We connect with our guests and ensure they are cared about personally as they also aim to care for the loved ones they might be shopping for. Working as a sales leader, I get to learn from an excellent manager and help guide and lead my fellow associates toward success as a store. This involves teaching the best strategies for communication and working with products as well as listening and watching out for strengths and teachable moments. Beyond leading and working alongside associates in general sales, I also lead opening and closing procedures, brainstorm ideas with my manager about team growth and general store/sales projects, and manage receiving products as needed. In the end, I help ensure every costumer and fellow employee experiences the caring energy our store intends to be known for. Show less

Wellyou is a start-up company with an inspiring goal to make the world a better place by helping people become the best versions of themselves. They focus on improving the happiness and holistic wellbeing in each of their employees and throughout their growing community with science backed methods. As an intern, I was blessed to be able to work with and learn many different aspects of creating and launching an app for their two year old program—from content development to crowdfunding marketing to UX research and development. Working as a team around the world (different timezones) during the pandemic, we learned unique collaboration and flexibility skills, and I loved that I was working with so many people that shared the same values and goals to bring more happiness into the world. In this job, I got to work with and learn about many different neurotypes and how children learn in different ways. I worked in a group of one supervising teacher and a varying number of other paras. We worked under great pressure of often a 1:2 or more adult to student ratio, where the work often required a 1:1 ratio. Teamwork was essential here, and communication with the teacher was greatly important to me. Day to day work involved everything from helping the student follow a schedule to bathrooming (depending on the kid) to teaching math, language, general communication, movement—basically Life and Academic skills that they would need to improve to succeed in the real world later. • Office Assistant
      • Jan 2017 - Jun 2018

As an Office Assistant, I mostly handled mail correspondence and trouble shooting in the office. It was a great way to learn more about and be a part of the team and mission of tribal historic preservation and protection. I worked in the office and sometimes from home and also helped with organization and purging of old archives. Working here also taught me how to work on my own schedule and get things done in a timely manner. As an Office Assistant, I mostly handled mail correspondence and trouble shooting in the office. ESU's Writing Center was an amazing place where I got to meet and help others excel with their own written word. We helped students and sometimes non-students with projects ranging from essays to social media posts to novels and even resumes at times. While often the project only needed grammatical edits or feedback, many of us were focused on ensuring the format and flow also fit the type of project's typical standards. It was a great way to meet new people, communicate and work with co-workers, and make a positive impact on the world. Show less
