Oppidan Education was founded in 2016 with the aim of disrupting an overcrowded private tuition market. We now support thousands of children through one-to-one mentoring programmes privately and in schools around the world. Mentoring is all about fostering student ownership and places personal development at the heart of any education.Oppidan has now grown to a team of 200 inspiring mentors; a network of game changers who dedicate themselves to positive growth in each of their mentees across 3,000 families in the UK. The work Oppidan does helps children fulfil their potential, affirming their belief that the attainment of better grades exists only as a by-product of positive wellbeing. The elevation of children’s mental health should be a central focus of their education experience. As a client manager I am responsible for the relationships with our clients and our fantastic network of mentors. I match our inspiring mentors to our clients to support the growth and development of their children.Current business projects include private mentoring, school work, Disco, Oppidan Camps and Oppidan Overseas. Our charity - The Oppidan Foundation - curates and manages peer-mentoring projects in maintained schools. We aim to inspire aspirational Y12s and disengaged Y7s through community cohesion, tackling one of this country's biggest social issues: exclusion.

    • Account Executive
      • Aug 2020 - Sep 2020

My role as an Account Executive involved working closely with the Group Account Director on a diverse range of projects for Aspen Pharmacare, the largest drug company in Africa. I was exposed to briefings and reverts between the client and agency and I was able to master their communication system, ‘Workbook’ ,where all their operations were performed. Additionally, I spent time in the design department, gaining a deeper understanding of their duties and functioning. Throughout the course of the year, I covered a wide range of subjects and worked in teams on "live" client briefs, that comprised of local and international companies such as Axe, Yoco, Price Check and Nando's. At the end of the year we had to present our own form of a "TED talk" to a live audience. I challenged the audience to "burst" their own filter bubble, by focusing on the very real phenomenon of excess data, particularly our personal data and how it can be used against us and the repercussions of this.
