I read through economic opportunities studies carried out by various development agencies in Kakuma and Kalobeyei and looked into the Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund to identify best practices, opportunities and challenges it was expected to face as well as what the workings of the model was. Notes from this desk review are currently being used as a reference for WUSC Kenya’s DREEM project. Researched alternative sustainable materials that could be used for the Artisan Collective's products. A sustainability report was written in collaboration with the Business Development Officer and sent to the Artisan Collective team at RefuSHE. Once conclusions were made by the team as to what sustainable materials they would sample, I compiled a list of local providers in East Africa where samples could be obtained as a reference working document for the RefuSHE team.
