Nicole has strong leadership skills. During my time studying at Mount Royal College I noticed how successful she was at managing a lot of responsibilities beyond her student role. She's also good at decision making, planning and problem solving. She's accountable and reliable, and also a very good friend.

I am responsible for promoting the work Lacombe County is doing, to help residents understand what is happening and how it impacts them. To accomplish this, I write, collect articles, design and publish a monthly newspaper that is mailed out and posted online. I also manage the County's Twitter and Facebook social media accounts, as well as prepare speaking notes, press releases, website content and more. My job also has an internal communications component, which requires the creation of an internal newsletter. Show less

Jul 2014 - Sep 2016
By working closely with our team in Central Alberta and Northern Canada, I capture the stories of our team -from the projects we work on, to the various community initiatives we are involved in. It's exciting work, and I love collaborating with our engineers, architects and project managers to tell their stories and promote their projects. I addition to writing, I work on presentations, complete award submissions, design a variety of visual displays, and coordinate community investment initiatives for our region. Show less

Communications Coordinator and Website Coordinator
-
Jun 2007 - Jun 2014
While at AFSC, I wrote for both web and print mediums; completed various graphic design projects using programs like PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; wrote speeches, prepared plans for corporate communications; created advertising materials (brochures, ads, banners); designed the annual report and information booklets; and helped organize corporate events (charity events, conferences, parade floats, etc.). I prepared a variety of staff updates from the Executive Management Team, which would be presented through the internal website, newsletters, memos and/or PowerPoint presentations. On top of my communications activities, I was responsible for monitoring and coordinating the content on AFSC's internal and external sites. This involved creating/reviewing the incoming content, and working with content experts to create well written and easy to understand items. Show less
