Located in Glasgow City Centre, a convenience store which is always busy is a very rewarding one to work for. This store is busy but especially during peak times where our main focus is maintaining a high level customer service and working efficiently towards our own personal time and sale targets. Customer service is the main focus within the store ensuring we make a pleasant shopping experience for each and every customer. We have mysterious shoppers who pay our stores visits every month scoring us on our customer service, cleanliness of the shop and presentation. The store also sells alcohol which in Glasgow City Centre you experience unpleasant intoxicated shoppers who may be refused service and learn to deal with them while maintaining a good level of service. Coming from a background of retail/customer service experience I settled quickly into the roles and responsibilities of this job, understanding the correct cash procedures and efficient serving times. Responsibilities included: • Processing cash/card payments accurately and efficiently • Correcting any self-service mistakes ensuring the customer is also aware of how to use the machines. • Sympathising and asking questions with customers when a complaint is being made and correctly/promptly fixing this issue • Working closely with co-workers and managers to ensure efficient use of time • Maintaining high level of customer service during busy periods • Ensuring stock levels are being monitored and stock rotation is being correctly followed Show less

For the past two summers I have took the opportunity to participate in Camp America, which I was lucky enough to work at a ranch camp in the north woods of Wisconsin. Throughout my experience I looked after 13 horses day and night. During the day together with my team I would teach 5 lessons a day, 4 lessons of horse-riding and one of horse care. These lessons would be categorized by level and the levels were for the safety of our riders. Throughout the 12 weeks of camp the riders developed their skills, some even moving up levels, and developed their horseman ship understanding how to care for the horse too. Show less
