Lead Adviser & Co-ordinator
-
Feb 2004 - Sep 2008
Whilst acting as a senior adviser and project manager for Japan’s high profile overseas energy related financings and the development of JBIC’s strategic plans during my term in Tokyo – Nicole was also mandated directly by the Chairman of JBIC (who is appointed by the Japanese Ministry of Finance) to act as the lead adviser and an official member in the establishment and implementation on behalf of the Japanese Ministry of Finance and JBIC, the Japan Carbon Finance, Ltd. initiative (‘JCF’) - a new financial institution that was created in Japan in 2004. JCF is a company established directly by JBIC, the Development Bank of Japan, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Ltd, Sumitomo Corporation, Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc., Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. and Nippon Oil Corporation. It was a new financial institution created to use funds in the Japanese Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, for the development of greenhouse gas reduction financings and for the purchase of carbon credits. Following creation and implementation of this financial institution - Nicole was an active participant in review of potential projects for utilisation of such funds.
