I was involved in the optimisation and development of iPS cell differentiation into hematopoietic cell lineages, working with a range of iPS cell lines. As lab manager for the newly formed team, I was responsible for setting up the PD lab and putting into place the required reagent databases and stock management systems to ensure GLP requirements were met. I worked in a highly collaborative manner between research and development teams to develop an allogeneic manufacture ready process and gain in-depth understanding of drug product potency, phenotype and stability to enable the IND regulatory submission for first in human clinical trials. I was involved in the development and optimisation of the manufacturing process of autologous T cells for cancer immunotherapy. I was involved in a wide range of projects focusing on process specific elements, such as automation, assessing capabilities and limitations of new equipment and general process enhancements, as well as T cell product investigation, including T cell efficacy, fitness, activation, and cell phenotype. I was heavily involved in training junior members; I enjoyed sharing my in-depth knowledge and ensuring training was delivered to the highest calibre possible.
