As a student teacher, I was in charge of teaching 3rd grade students full-time. I focused on Math, Science and Social Studies. I created lesson plans, graded and handled the overall operations of the classroom. I helped prepare kids for the yearly Texas State STAAR exams. I worked with severely disabled students who were dependent on me as their caregiver, handling their complete care and safety monitoring. I assisted them in helping them attain their educational goals set in their IEPs. In addition, I was involved in the general education classrooms assisting other students in math, reading, and writing in order to fulfill their IEP and 504 plan requirements.
