Nicole has been an absolutely delightful and critical member of our backend engineering team for the past 2 years. I have been so impressed by her from the very first interview and she continually surpassed all expectations in everything she did. Nicole is an ideal team member - easily one of the most positive and kind people I've met and sets a really great tone with the team. She is brilliant - learns quickly, isn't afraid of new challenges or unknowns, she can break down complex problems, understand nuance and subtleties of various solutions, and she can communicate effectively with the team to collaborate and consider tradeoffs. At one point, Nicole was in charge of an integration with a particularly difficult service/partner. Nicole handled that relationship and project perfectly - she was endlessly patient and professional, she was very clear in her communication and knowledgable about all aspects of the code, escalated when necessary, re-wrote the integration countless times, and handled blockers creatively finding ways to work around unknowns to keep things moving forward as much as possible. Nicole is also very generous with her time and expertise - always willing to work with other team members to pair program or brainstorm or be a sounding board. On all fronts Nicole delivers - high quality code, solid solutions to problems, and a decidedly positive addition to team culture. Nicole is a rare find in engineering and just the type of balancing force every team should have.
