Fidutam is one of the world's largest civil society groups, mobilizing 1,500+ young people as stewards and developers of responsible technology.Fidutam’s first product is a SIM-card-based app that provides $50 to $100 microloans and self-sovereign I.D.s to unbanked individuals worldwide to facilitate upward mobilization. So far, Fidutam has successfully reached and impacted 1,100+ users across the U.S., Nicaragua, Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, and Uganda. Most of our users come from traditionally marginalized and underserved communities, facing economic challenges and limited access to financial services. More than 90% of our users earn less than $5 per day. Our users have collectively generated $400,000+ in financial earnings. I was invited to speak at a recurring roundtable hosted by the U.S. Department of Education, convening leaders in the education space to discuss our priorities in AI’s integration into the education system. During one of these roundtables, I delivered an opening presentation to the U.S. Secretary of Education regarding students' priorities in AI's incorporation into the education system.
