Together with fellow members Geoff Underwood (chair), Lester Townsend and Cazz Redding, Nicola Smith was appointed by Victorian Minister for Planning, Matthew Guy, to sit on the State Planning Policy Framework (SPPF) Review Advisory Committee. The SPPF is a key part of the Victorian planning system providing a linkage between the State's Vision and local planning implementation. In her role on the SPPF Review Advisory Committee, Nicola was involved in consulting with a wide range of stakeholders, preparation of a suggested SPPF Structure and detailed input into a final SPPF document. Her role on this Committee reflects her knowledge of planning systems across Australia and her practical application of State and Local policy to development implementation.
