In 2017 Nicola got in touch with me about working on the PR about a special jewel that they had for sale. It was a stunning large fancy yellow diamond ring signed by Graff. I used to do the PR for Graff and was touched that they had thought to ask me. It was such a fabulous project to work on with Nicky and Fellowes. The main focus of this role is to identify leads, pitch goods or services to new clients, and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts. As part of this, I am a specialist and business getter covering the Jewellery, Watch and Designer Handbag departments. I am the auctioneer for weekly online specialist auctions which can number up to 900 lots. I regularly attend networking events to build brand awareness amongst our peers.I support the marketing department by identifying trends within the industry, pitching ideas for interesting news stories, and suggesting guest speakers for events.I regularly contribute to the company blog and social media sites, as well as giving specialist comment to national and international press. I manage my own social media accounts aimed towards driving traffic to the main auction site and explaining the gemmological and horological terms in an easy-to-understand way.I liaise with external stakeholders to implement new technologies and processes within the company to benefit our clients - such as an integrated post-process and virtual valuations during the pandemic. I took a leading role in our Green Initiative, identifying areas to improve on and implementing new processes.
