  Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective Safety Management System that was suitable to meet the needs of a UK based operator with a fleet of 13+ aircraft and a wide portfolio of aerial work (including operations within high risk and challenging environments) as well as a growing Part 145 Maintenance organisation. Under my tenure, the Company’s safety management system was developed from scratch and successfully passed the CAA SMS assessment for that of a Complex Operator. Being responsible for successful implementation and development of the Company’s Occurrence Reporting system involved working with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that an effective system that met regulatory requirements was delivered on time and on budget. Managing Safety Department investigations into accidents, incidents and hazardous occurrences and developed the emergency response plan including coordination of regular practice exercises.
