We all know what a relief and a pleasure it is to work alongside nice people. And if those individuals are also talented, hard working and completely on top of their job, then it makes coming to work a real pleasure. Nicola Catherall is one of those special people. I've recently had the opportunity to witness her skills and qualities at first hand, while working at the Guardian and I've been singularly impressed. As well as being an all-round top gal, she's also very patient - as she has amply demonstrated in waiting for me to finally supply this well-deserved endorsement.

I worked with Nicola over a period of at least 6 or 7 years. She would go out of her way to brief properly, would make sure I had exactly what was needed to work effectively and would always deliver on what she promised. She was also a pleasure to deal with, always having a genuine and positive outlook.
