  I am one of the founder members of PHSC, which has grown from a privately owned consultancy in health and safety, to an AIM Listed organisation with 8 companies in the group. These offer related services covering security /cctv systems, safety management consultancy and training, and quality / management systems. We have started integrating the businesses into three divisions covering Safety, Security and Systems. Our growth strategy has been to widen our portfolio so that we can offer a one-stop-shop to our customers, whilst maintaining a bespoke and personal service from a small organisation. My role as executive director involves overseeing the management and performance of group companies, whilst maintaining a hands-on approach with consultancy and training delivery within PHSC Limited and the other safety consultancies. I strongly believe in leadership from the front and I regularly visit clients to undertake assignments as well as for marketing and business development purposes.I'm an IRCA accredited ISO 9001 lead auditor and have qualified to CIM Level 6 Professional Diploma in Marketing.As part of our synergy with the HSE strategy we have developed a comprehensive Occupational Health Audit which helps clients to identify where they are doing well regarding staff health, welfare and mental health as well as where there may be weaknesses or opportunities for improvement. Based on the recent news from GPs that up to one third of Fit Notes relate to mental health, this is a good time for employers to consider looking at the health aspects of occupational safety and health. Working closely with our subsidiary (QCS International Ltd), we also offer support services and training to clients wishing to develop systems in line with the new ISO 45001 Safety Management Standard.   Completion of Expert Witness Reports for both Civil and Criminal cases. The cases I've been involved with have included both public and private sector. Examples of cases Ive dealt with recently include: Work at Height Prosecution (which resulted in court attendance at a Newton Hearing); (Fork Lift Truck Personal Injury claim); (Personal Injury claims to a trainer delivering Control & Restraint and Personal Injury claim to an employee during training in riot management). Qualified initially as a Chartered Safety Practitioner, Im also qualified in environmental management and with in Professional Marketing (level 6 with the Chartered Institute of Marketing). I have been a governor in a secondary school for 6 years, and have supported the senior management team through change to Academy status, to a Multi-Academy. My philosophy is about using and sharing experience with people who work with me, and with other organisations to help achieve continual improvement. Show less
