Three main factors affect logistics results: delivery dates, costs and drivers. No delay for deliveries represent the main goal of any logistic department and getting that with optimisation of costs is not always an easy task. Eventually, route balancing is crucial to reach good people management.

      • Two production plant scheduling together with the delivery to the foreign plant: I directly schedule the production of the Pharma Plant and I elaborate the KPI; I coordinate the scheduling of Cosmetic Plant in order to maximize the overall output of the Company, often switching batches from this plant to the Pharma division; in addition, the two plants must guarantee regular expeditions of raw materials and semi-finished products to the foreign plant to supply the manual assembly lines;• Work load and data analysis: the implementation of a personalized data analysis system let the Company understand the production trend of the different departments and the changes that have to be made in order to balance the output pace among production lines;• Customer interaction: from the data previously learned it is possible to implement dedicated retro-planning to guarantee the delivery date of future orders for the most profitable customers;• Information fluxes: from the initial order from customers to the delivery of the goods all the information must be shared in the easiest way possible to automate regular/repetitive tasks and simplify communication among colleagues. Work centre production lists: scheduling more than fifty work centres in order to minimise set-up time and achieve delivery date, crucial when you deal with pharmaceutical customers; Work shift management and shift supervisors’ coordination: the importance of leading a team to manage internal and external factors to maximise overall department performance. Production data analysis and KPI: to build up a structure able to collect reliable data is the first step, checking their accuracy it’s the following, eventually the data analysis is the last one that allows the company to understand whether it’s walking in the right direction. 4.0 Industry development: technical equipment it’s a key tool to develop company organization and let the continuous improvement process take place on the previous three areas. The first job is always a crucial experience that everyone experiments is his life. You approach for the first time a group of people which has worked together for years, and you need to learn how to take your space among them. If you are willing to learn, here you can learn much more than you could give to the company. I had to be prepared on all the aspects of the electrical motors, especially in the working process area. Fifty employees needed to trust my decisions before they could trust me. We started to reorganize the production office (who does what) and the production department roles (who leads who). All of this to simplify the information fluxes inside the plant. After seven months, when the demand reached the top, we achieved the maximum output the plant has ever produced and this was the results of all the efforts made by the group. Here I also started to directly relate with customers: when our lead time couldn’t fit with customer’s MRP I needed to find a balance between internal exigencies and external requests. Show less

      • Mar 2017 - Oct 2017

Why does a mechanical engineer should accept a safety project in a food Company? Well, sincerely I didn’t know exactly what to expect: it was on a subject no one has never told me about, it was ambitious, and it could have been a good opportunity to work in a big company. I think I took the best decision I could take. I passed eight months dividing my time between personal projects (production line certification according to D. Lgs. 81/08) and trying to learn as much I could do, in every area, from quality department to even sewage treatment plant. Here I concluded my study course with an on-ground Master Thesis focused on new approaches to plant safety, based on the interaction between operators and managers. Show less
