I have worked with Nico for a number of years, in various roles, including as an MBA colleague, as my Manager, and as a colleague. Over the years, he has added lots of value in the role that he undertook. As an MBA colleague, Nico worked hard and was always willing to take up a leadership role to support the team. He certainly contributed to the success of the team. As a manager, Nico took a keen interest in developing individuals and also provided direction, often developing sound and innovative strategies to deal with complex issues. As a colleague, in the role of Head of OR for Africa, he always dealt with the complex environment in a logical and principled manner. He made huge strides in overcomming significant challenges in the environment. He also always delivered robust implementations of the Group Framework and was always open to review and challenge.
