  We have built, commission and operate a bespoke 18,000 tpd crushing and sortation plant at a large-scale copper mine in the Philippines. I currently manage a team of 110 employees which is divided into operations, maintenance, supply chain and finance, projects and sub-contractors. Since my arrival in May 2022, we have increased our daily tonnages and revenue by 60%. This was achieved by implementing plant improvements in which we are continually improving on the type of wearing media to use, proper management of staff through motivation, guidance, educating and hands on maintenance training and continuously improving maintenance tactics and finally improving communication with mining team on the logistics of truck and grade deliveries. What we do; we receive ore from the mine and using sortation technology by means of magnetic resonance analyzers, identify and measure copper bearing content (particularly chalcopyrite and chalcocite) within the ore which allows us to sort higher grade copper “pods” from within low grade feed and sort accordingly on a fast-moving conveyor belt. The more heterogenous the ore the better suited for sortation and higher corresponding yields. This has a number of benefits. When in full sortation mode the higher-grade ore is identified, diverted and crushed to size and fed into the fine ore bin and then concentrator. The low-grade inert ore is diverted to an aggregate line which is then sold into the aggregate market. We provide a number of benefits to the mines. 1.Take low grade marginal ore and through sortation and upgrade make it economical 2. 0 waste (no stockpile) as the low-grade inert waste is sold to aggregate 3.
