Working with Nicky for the last 2 years at Madgex has been an absolute pleasure. She is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and she knows how to communicate clearly to our customers about their design requirements. I have lost count of the number of times a customer has told me how professional they found Nicky to deal with, and how happy they are with the work she has produced. She is the type of person who responds quickly to requirements, listens to customers, and takes the time to understand their business. She always finds time to do things for customers we are working with and the whole team know we can rely on her. She is also a key person in upholding the culture and values of Madgex, she always participates in everything we do, and often leads the way in our employee engagement activities. What really sets her apart from most people, is that she does all of this with a smile on her face, no matter what she is going through personally. She has faced some tough challenges in her life over the last 2 years, yet she never lets this get in the way of her 'can do' attitude and friendly nature at work. I will watch with interest as she develops her career in future.

I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Nicki for the last month as a role as an intern with us here at Cobb PR. From day one Nicki's flair for design, commercal sensibilities and common sense approach shone through. Client friendly and her williness to work outside the 9-5 without being asked and with a smile, mark her out as someone who is destined to go far. Her terrible jokes and her mums cakes will be sorely missed!. I wish nicki every success in her future career and would not hesitate to hire her again.

After over 2 1/2 years working as a Digital Product Designer within the Madgex product team working on our SaaS products and features, I have gained the element of Lead to my job title as someone who leads a discipline, mentoring others and promoting the skills and craft of Digital Product Design within Madgex.

As a Digital Product Designer within the Madgex product team, my role supports the product development process for our SaaS products and features, and helping my colleagues understand the importance of UX and incorporating it into their daily processes. Working closely with out Front End Developers on delivering and improving our live projects and features, my daily responsibilities include working with user research, wire-framing, prototyping and producing high-fidelity mock-ups for our platform, client projects and key sales pitches using design software such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud and prototyping tools like Invision. I am also involved with supporting internal design workshops for our product teams, leading creative discussions with our clients, and utilising our latest technology to make our platform better for our job board owners, their recruiters/employers and the world's jobseekers.

Madgex is a SaaS company specialising in Job Board, Course Board and Career Center software. As a Creative Designer I design for three user groups; our clients (the job/course board owners), their jobseekers and their recruiters as well as internally for my Madgex colleagues.Within the creative team we divide our work between Project work, Platform work and Sales & Marketing work. This means what I produce varies; from style tiles for a client’s new site and reviewing a site build, working with current clients to improve the usability and branding of their sites, producing UX wireframes for AB testing to diagrams for presentation slides for our sales team to use when pitching to new international clients, and a whole collection of marketing collateral for events and product releases.

My main role is to design for Friday Media Group's large and growing portfolio of classifieds and retail sites through briefs given to me by the sites' platform managers.I also consider the user experience within all of my designs to entice our users and make their experience on our sites more enjoyable, getting them where they want to be quickly and simply, reducing drop out rates and making them want to use them again in the future. Not only do i concentrate on our sites' designs but I also design graphics, emails, promotional site banners, infographics, brand identities, presentations, mobile sites/apps and Print media. Anything to help give our brands that something extra, keeping them recognisable and up-to-date as well as professional.

I was offered an internship at Cobb PR over a number of other individuals thanks to the Wired Sussex internship programme. I worked with the team of 8 professionals for 4 weeks, who all have decades of journalism and PR experience between them. They have two offices in Eastbourne and Hove and enjoyed commuting between them. I worked specifically with the Director of Digital Marketing, helping content manage the brand new website that had been created. My photography skills were used to take photos for the site too. I also worked with one of their clients closely, Buddies 24 Hour Restaurant in Brighton, and helped evolve their Facebook fan page, attracting just over 300 fans to the page within 2 weeks. I designed, produced and liaised with printers to get the publications into the restaurant to remind customers of the page while they're waiting for their meals (especially with the knowledge that Smartphones and the Internet are at their fingertips constantly). Combining my creativity, love of Photoshop, communicating with the team and clients, organisation skills, photography and passion for PR and digital marketing I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and their business.

I worked at Ocean Edge PR & Marketing to help the brand new company build their brand image through designing their logo and publications as well as keeping up the brand image of their larger company Ocean Edge Resource Management. My role was to help with both companies PR & Marketing through producing some of their copywriting, designs, press releases, publications, website copy, social media as well as aiding my director with clients wants and needs too. I learnt a lot from this work experience, especially how much I enjoyed working within an office with a friendly and helpful team of people, building my skills and understanding of the industry.
