Susan Bickle

I had the pleasure of working with Nicki when I was the Community Development Team Leader at West Dorset District Council, tasked with establishing Youth Forums and a Youth bank. I found Nicki's knowledge and expertise with young people , invaluable, through the rapport that she had with the young people, she was able to encourage them to try out things that had not considered, such as organising an intergenerational tea dance, or taking part in the council consultation on the local development framework. Nicki was very innovative in her approach , and established some excellent initiatives, such as the Book bar, with a local library, that gave the library over to being young people friendly, allowing music to be played and so on, to encourage young people to use the facilities. Nick was extremely professional , and provided the perfect balance of approachability and authority with the young people she worked with - I would highly recommend her as a youth worker, Susan Bickle

Nicki what a skilled lady! Many are unaware that alongside her long career as a successful midwife, she also has fantastic skills as a youth project leader, helping groups with slam poetry, creative writing , she is a never ending source of creative ideas, and inspiration. She easily builds rapport with young people and can inspire them to explore ideas, and to learn new skills, and to have a lot of fun in the process.
