I've known Nick for more than 20 years now in multiple capacities -- I wrote magazine articles for him, worked alongside him when we were both Seattle Post-Intelligencer writers and then worked for him when he was the P-I sports editor -- and I've always been inspired by his creative and sophisticated approach to the job. I found him to be an inspiring leader who drew the best work out of me, and I never questioned him when he made suggestions for my writing, always confident he was improving things. Nick is a versatile person who would be an asset in leading any sort of news, communications or journalistic team. You only need to speak with him for a few minutes to understand how smart and motivated he is.

Nick is an excellent writer, reporter and racing analyst. He needs very little supervision and is a pleasure to work with.
