  ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ The National Deer Association was created by the merger of the National Deer Alliance and Quality Deer Management Association in 2020. Re-forged on November 10, 2020, from the combined strengths of two deer organizations with 38 years of action, the National Deer Association is united for deer with a new vision to make an impact for conservation immediately and for future generations. The mission of the organization is to ensure the future of wild deer, wildlife habitat and hunting. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ I serve as the President and CEO of the country's premiere wild deer conservation organization. In addition to overseeing the merger of the National Deer Alliance and Quality Deer Management Association, which formed the new organization, I led the development of the organization’s new strategic plan that sets the course for bold change of the Association's business practices while putting intense focus on the mission. In order to remain competitive, have mission success, and position the organization for growth, the fundraising and operating model for doing business was revamped. The national headquarters building was sold and the entire staff was moved to a remote working environment, which improved efficiency while eliminating unnecessary expenses. Signature Achievements: ✦ Guided the staff and boards of directors of both organizations through the merger process, which was accomplished in less than one year and during the COVID-19 pandemic. ✦ Established a staff review and compensation program using national benchmarks for all positions within the organization, which is tied to the strategic plan. ✦ Restructured grassroots-level fundraising program by eliminating unnecessary and cumbersome warehousing costs and practices and streamlined deployment of the program through a combination of cost-cutting measures and improvement is efficiency. Psychological focus is an often overlooked aspect of athletic training and our goal is to improve function in all areas of life with compassionate mental performance coaching. The company also assists high school student athletes navigate the collegiate recruiting process and college athletes with the transfer portal. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ I founded First Place Performance, LLC while completing my masters degree in 2011 to help an underserved community of young athletes that lack the necessary help to reach the next level of their sport. The company was originally created as EagleEye Performance until I relocated to Columbus, OH where it was registered with the new name. I serve as the principal and head mental performance coach. This is accomplished through coalition building, ballot issue campaigning and legislative and government relations. The Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation protects and defends America's wildlife conservation programs and the pursuits, which generate the money to pay for them. Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation is responsible for public education, legal defense and research. Its mission is accomplished through several distinct programs, coordinated to provide the most complete defense capability possible. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ I served as President and CEO of Sportsmen's Alliance and Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation, where I oversaw all aspects of the organization's business of protecting hunting, fishing, and trapping in the United States. Served as President and Chief Executive Officer for both the 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations and was a member of the board of directors. As the Chief Executive Officer, I supervised a team of five executives as part of a 20-person professional staff, lead the development of new strategies, and overhauled the entire outward-facing appearance of the organization. I also oversaw a $5 million annual budget and managed operations in Columbus, OH, Sacramento, CA, and Washington, D.C. Over its rich history, Delta Waterfowl has evolved from one of the most renowned waterfowl research centers to become an organization wholly focused on serving the needs of duck hunters. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ I served as the Chief Executive Officer at Delta Waterfowl Foundation, an international non-profit hunting and conservation organization based in Bismarck, ND and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with a mission to provide knowledge, leaders, and science-based solutions that efficiently conserve waterfowl and secure the future for waterfowl hunting. As the CEO, I was responsible for the performance of the company, as dictated by the board's overall strategy. A private nonprofit conservation organization founded in 1932, WPC has helped to establish twelve state parks, conserved more than 254,000 acres of natural lands and protected or restored more than 3,000 miles of rivers and streams. The Conservancy owns and operates Fallingwater, which symbolizes people living in harmony with nature. ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ I managed the Conservancy's Watershed Conservation Program supervising 17-20 individuals at our Indiana, Hollidaysburg, and Ridgway, Pennsylvania offices. I also conceived and managed WPC's Conservation Services Program, which provides consultation services to a variety of private clients for profit, which gets reinvested in WPC's mission-related work. Accomplishments: ✦ Developed organization’s Watershed Conservation Program concept and programming from the ground up. ✦ Built program budget from $100,000 annually to $2 million annually, which was funded by diverse sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government. ✦ Conceived and developed the organization’s Conservation Services Program, which involved securing and completing conservation projects for clients on a for-profit basis. ✦ Supervised the implementation of important conservation projects across the western Pennsylvania landscape. Responsible for the largest number of on-the-ground restoration projects in the nearly 80-year history of the organization. ✦ Played a key role in the reauthorization of Federal Surface Mining Conservation and Recreation fund, which provides several billion dollars for habitat and water quality improvements in several states over a 20-year period.
