One of four Managing Partners to launch Serviceplan New York. Developed efforts for KeyMe, BMW + International Women’s Day and The One Club. And within the larger Serviceplan network, successfully helped pitch Credit Suisse globally, consulted on LEGO, SK Hynix and Turkish Airlines, while providing numerous global accounts with US perspective across multiple categories. Left to start a new venture — something to do good and do it completely unencumbered — with my three partners and longtime colleagues. Show less

Brought onboard in Summer 2016 to open and build MTZHF NYC from the ground up. Within 18 months, much accomplished. Senior team recruited. Two amazing partners who together helped bring on first-rate, but scrappy core team across disciplines. Rare, but hugely important, family culture cultivated in very short order. As a lean team, with limited resources from new UK-based parent company and SF HQ office, in less than 12mos successfully won both AOR and project business with clients across multiple categories. From a major league sports team and hugely successful UK online real estate company entering the ultra competitive US market to a rapidly growing East Coast ginger beer brand and $125MM-funded mid-stage start-up shaking up a $10B category that hadn’t seen any innovation in decades. On top of this, regularly punched above weight to make it to finals of several big budget, national and global pitches (T-Mobile, LL Bean, Verizon, Remy Cointreau's Mount Gay Rum) against hugely competitive field of much larger agencies; some through major, national consultant relationships with an initial field of 16 agencies. Left for a very unique, equity partnership opportunity (with aforementioned amazing partners). Show less

Based on my experience, was hired to help turnaround this indie shop within IPG. First steps were to quickly streamline team (including a restructure and diversified Senior Management Team), create a distinct business unit for legacy Maybelline client and reposition agency to lean more into it’s creative “indie-ness” (vs being largely associated with McCann Worldgroup and defined by the retail beauty category). Refined "Welcome All Doers and Optimists" philosophy and "Brand Reciprocity" approach, along with other identity and org changes reinvigorated agency, both internally and externally. Within less than two years, awarded AdAge Agency A-List Standout and picked up agency's first ever Cannes Lion for Branded Content (which was paired with an Effie for same client/integrated effort). And with leaner team, new focus and intentionally smaller NB budgets, we achieved much higher pitch win rate (up to 80%), rebounded from a seven figure loss to double digit margins and boasted a greatly diversified client roster with client's choosing us for projects and scope outside of core, integrated ad campaigns. Including far-reaching business consulting projects where we beat out Bain and McKinsey, product/packaging and store prototype redesign efforts where we beat out some top design firms, customer segmentation studies, loyalty programs and partner + investor sell-in presentations. A few highlights, each accompanied by significant brand and business results, including David vs Goliath and Brand Renaissance Effies: - Chobani: Nothing But Good - Best Western International: Stay with People Who Care - Denny's: America's Diner is Always Open - MAM Baby: Parenting is Hard, We Make it Easier Additional Roster of AOR and project clients included: Luxottica/global Sunglasses Hut, Reebok, Newman's Own, HP, HappyBaby/Groupe Danone, Chrysler, DestinationXL, Ad Council, The NY Pops. As a Partner and head of Senior Management Team, helped build and run creative indie agency for almost a decade, capped off by being named to AdAge A-List in 2010. “Our Intentions Are Good” philosophy and “Firestarting” approach helped us recruit some of the top talent in the industry (across levels and departments) and partner with some of the bravest and most ambitious clients. Grew from a small shop of a dozen people and $1MM in revenue to a prominent, national player with 165 and $30MM in revenue. Helped build out fully-integrated offering to include design, communications planning, media, in-house content production and brand consultancy. Tackled complex business issues with clients from start-ups and challenger brands to Fortune 100 companies across nearly every category; many long-tenured with fully-integrated scopes of work including national and global remits. Our wildly successful efforts quickly moved both business and brand metrics, rallied internal teams at every level. Inspired action and created evangelists across diverse and complex b2b and b2c targets. And won everything from Effies to Lions over time, often for the same work; some highlights of the movements we helped generate include: - iShares: Let's Build A Better Investment World + New School of Investing - ConocoPhillips: We're on the Driver's Side - Barclays: Quietly Conquering the World of Finance - Intel: Sponsors of Tomorrow - PG&E: Let's Green this City - Audi: Truth in Engineering + Progress is Beautiful Other key client partners in addition to above: HBO (The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Oz, Entourage, Carnivale), Coca-Cola (Nestea and Fresca), A&E Network, ConAgra (Slim Jim, Orville Redenbacher, Chef Boyardee), 24 Hour Fitness, Constellation Brands, truTV, Robert Mondavi Winery, Vizio, Heavenly Ski Resort, Mervyn's and Napster. After several attempts, finally accepted my senior marketing client’s offer to join their team. So happy I did, learnings were invaluable for future agency roles after having spent time at HQ managing three agency relationships. And then in the field managing all regional + local marketing while serving as a consultant to over a hundred dealers, some as large as $100MM general contractors. Fortunate to have begun my career in Account Management at an agency that was fully-integrated and on their legacy, flagship account of two decades: Walmart. Annual revenue of $25-30MM and a scope that included dozens of integrated campaigns per year — not just brand efforts, but seasonal, departmental (from HBA, Shoes and Music & Video to Toys, Tire & Lube Express and Sporting Goods) and other global initiatives. From this I began to realize what an "ideal" agency/client relationship could achieve — significant impact on business. The client's. The agency's. And everyone in-between. Other accounts during tenure: McDonald's, H&R Block, Blockbuster Video, CarChoice (launched business/brand that was later acquired by AutoNation) and Butler Manufacturing (went client-side with this team).
