URM Case Manager
-
Apr 2017 - Aug 2018
As a URM Case Manager with the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program, I guided unaccompanied refugee minors through the resettlement process. Generally, I coordinated with attorneys, program management, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement to reunify refugee youth with extended family in Texas, Utah, and Minnesota. When this was impossible, I designed individualized service plans to resettle youth in foster care. While in foster care, I continued to work with foster parents and youth to ensure the youth developed sufficient employment and education to live independently by the age of 21.

AgroForestry Extension Agent
-
Sep 2014 - Jan 2017
As an AgroForestry Extension agent, I encouraged subsistence level farmers to adopt improved forestry management practices to increase their income and improve the quality of their diets. Additionally, I served as the Director for two youth camps and contracted qualified masons to construct farming infrastructure. In support of these projects, I successfully authored and managed several USAID Feed the Future and Let Girls Learn grants. Oct 2011 - Feb 2013
The City of Omaha received a CHAMP grant to partner with local NGOs in an effort to improve the nutritional quality of after-school snacks for at-risk youth. I assisted the city's Education Initiatives Director in writing progress reports and attended meetings with after-school program managers to determine their eligibility for federal assistance. I also assisted the city's Grants Department by maintaining grant documents, drafting letters to constituents, and maintaining social media sites and newsletters.

Grant Author, Team Manager
-
Aug 2009 - May 2010
Serving as Lead Author for a MIT Lemmelson InvenTeams Grant, I led a team of nine students to secure funding to design and build an automated hydroponic garden. My team and I modified and programed an Arduino computer to execute all the maintenance usually performed by a gardener. This included maintaining proper nutrient levels in the water reservoir, measuring and adjusting acidity, and regulating wind and light conditions. In supporting this project I managed a budget of $10,000, maintained grant documents, and regularly communicated with staff at MIT.
