With my older brother, Jimmy and our friend, Mike, I began mowing our neighbors’ lawns with our Scotts lawn tractor. We charged $15 per mowing, and split the money equally. Jimmy and Mike received their $5 for mowing the lawn, while I received $5 for talking to the customer, recording the service and collecting the money – all the jobs that they didn’t like, i.e. managing the back office.
