  Founded in 1987 by Chef Mary Risley, Food Runners is a grass-roots volunteer organization that relays over 20 tons of excess food per week from restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and catered offices. We serve over 300 agencies in San Francisco who are feeding the needy. This amounts to over 25,000 meals per week, consisting of over 700 individual food runs carried out by our volunteers. All of this with two full time staff members! Less than $.25 per meal. I conduct our operations, including route planning, logistics, mobile app implementation, volunteer recipient and donor coordination. Join us!
