I lead and direct the hard and soft services functions; land, property and landlord responsibilities; contracts for service, including a significant catering contract and energy contracts; commercial development; fire, health & safety and compliance; security and the minibus service. I have responsibility for all FM budgets. I directly line-manage 9 staff with circa 100 staff employed across the facilities service. The campuses comprise 40+ buildings and 110 acres across two school sites comprising academic and support buildings; boarding and day houses; sports facilities; domestic accommodation for over 60 staff, and miscellaneous land. I played a key role in the successful delivery of Eastbourne College’s Project 150 development – a £33m project comprising the demolition of 10 buildings and the creation of two buildings called the Winn and the Nugee buildings. The development featured 31 state of the art classrooms; reception; sports hall; swimming pool and gym; dining hall and kitchen. I was a member of the steering group and project delivery board; I acted as day to day liaison between the school and the main contractor and design team; led on all value-engineered projects, including direct instruction for demolition, site preparation and the design and installation of kitchen. I managed the operational logistics during the construction phase and oversaw the mobilisation of both buildings, including developing a new staffing structure for the building. Show less
