I worked as part of the Process Engineering Design Team on one of the most high hazard reprocessing facilities on the site. Working predominantly on asset care improvement tasks I am the lead process engineer for asset care tasks on the Highly Active Evaporators.I was responsible for producing and checking a range of design deliverables for asset care work during the detailed design stage. This included upfront Basis of Design and Process Descriptions, detailed underpinning calculations and datasheets, safety substantiation documentation and operating strategies and instructions. I was also accountable for the management of an ongoing emergent work design task budget which was used to fund emergent small task requests from the operating plant to support the ongoing safe operation of the facility.

I was the System Engineer on a high hazard nuclear facility, becoming the subject matter expert and technical owner of the systems. I was accountable for:-Assessing Asset Condition - Investigations and recording evidence of system asset condition and development of funding proposals for asset care work to be undertakenEquipment Loss Logging and Performance Metrics - Development of a loss logging regime and conducting investigations into recurring failures and development of mitigating actionsMaintenance Regimes - Evaluation of the effectiveness of maintenance regimes and ensuring that that appropriate maintenance is in place for equipment across my systemDelivery of an Asset Transfer Programme - I delivered a programme of work developing clearer accountability for a suite of civil assets on the site, to enable clearer defined asset care and maintenance regimes to be developed.

Graduate Training ProgrammeSuccessfully completed the Sellafield Ltd 2 year graduate scheme. During this period I worked on several projects to broaden my experience and knowledge of the business. These roles included:-Process Designer - Completing process engineering design calculations, reports and assessments to support the detailed design phase of a Major Project. I also developed a new strategy for retrieving legacy nuclear waste from an ageing facility.Trial Work - Gain experience operating a half and quarter scale test rig that was built to underpin new technology to be deployed on a new facility. I analysed and wrote reports for trial work investigating sludge and slurry mobility trials as well as hydrogen hazard mitigation technologies.Assistant to the Engineering Director - Supporting the Engineering director in their duties and providing support across the Engineering lead team to enable effective operation of the directorate as well as networking with senior personnel from across the business. In addition to my Engineering role I successfully led a team of 18 graduates to deliver a project to design and produce a stand to exhibit at a national young engineers fair. I then produced a winning submission for this project at the IChemE awards in the training and education category in 2013
