I supported the customer experience for Amazon Marketplace sellers and the services they subscribe to. I designed interactions for internal and external web applications, conducted user research and usability testing, and measured success by improving quality- and volume-based metrics. I created the first Information Architecture program at Amazon, with principles and standards for IAs to follow internally. 2008 - Jan 2012
I established the disciplines of eCommerce information architecture and enterprise information architecture at REI. I designed and implemented the faceted navigation system on www.rei.com, and developed a model for a federated search program across content types. I guided the cleansing and migration of data from an internal merchandising system to the SAP ERP system by modeling product, vendor, and store entities and combining MDM best practices and IA/taxonomy information management principles. I was instrumental in the creation of an enterprise data governance team that changed the organizational structure to support master data management, saving the company millions of dollars per year. My projects directly supported customer web interactions and business intelligence. I used the results of my research to guide content strategy and customer-facing communications. Show less
