Served as the New Faculty Committee head where I help our newest faculty members acclimate to Pinkerton Academy through three-day workshops in August as well as bi-monthly meetings throughout the year meant to support, inform, and engage newly hired members of the Pinkerton community. Planned and coordinated many field trips-both day trips for students in my classes as well as long term trips such as traveling to Washington, DC. Presented at workshops on competency creations, performance assessments, and student-centered learning for teachers at Pinkerton Academy and in other surrounding districts. Most recently, designed a 6 part professional learning series regarding literacy across content areas. • Aug 2009 - May 2013

For four years I was honored to be both appointed and elected to various positions in the Student Government Association at Troy University. I began as a member of the Freshman legislative branch and later was the director of the Freshman Government program. In this capacity I ran a leadership conference for high school students with the help of the freshman on the forum. We also began community service projects reaching out. The service continued when I was elected to be Vice President of Campus Activities where I organized and executed successful campus events for the entire university from Welcome Week to Homecoming (a weeklong extravaganza) to organizing dinners, service projects, and awards to bring service, enthusiasm, and Trojan Pride to the University. I was elected as a Senator for the College of Education in my senior year, continuing to assist in many of these same projects and events. Show less
