  I have been involved with the Purdue Baja Racing team since returning to Purdue's campus from my first co-op rotation for the Spring 2019 semester. In this organization, I have had the opportunity to assist in fabrication and design work. While working on the fabrication of the car, I have learned how to operate milling machines and lathes to create components and jigs to be used in manufacturing the car. While working in design, I have been able to sharpen my skills using Solidworks to assist in creating computer-aided design (CAD) models of several parts for the car. My main project thus far has been creating a MATLAB code to analyze the forces in the car's suspension based upon inputted points to characterize the suspension geometry, and the magnitude and location of loads at the wheel of the car. Allison Transmission

  This was my third rotation in my five-term co-op with Allison Transmission. In this position, I worked with the Gear Systems team to create several specialized Excel spreadsheets using Visual Basic for Application (VBA). The first workbook functioned as a graphical user interface (GUI) to easily search for and find files within a network drive. VBA was used to smoothly transition between pages in the Excel workbook and give the user an overall experience similar to a webpage. The second project… This was my third rotation in my five-term co-op with Allison Transmission. The second project I worked on was a spline computation spreadsheet that utilized VBA to perform calculations and update tables and images in the worksheet. This spreadsheet used several user-specified inputs to generate a spline and outputed the result of the calculations into tables and images. The images used in the spreadsheet were similar to those used on prints containing splines and enabled the user to visualize and easily communicate how the spline should look. Show more Show less



Allison Transmission

  This was my second rotation in my five-term co-op with Allison Transmission. In this position, I created detailed 3D models and drawings using Siemens NX computer-aided design software. To complete my work, I learned proper modeling techniques as well as some of the basics in creating properly dimensioned technical drawings.

  This was my first rotation in my five-term co-op with Allison Transmission. In this position I worked in the Engineering Services department, testing experimental hardware. This involved coordinating assembly and calibrating testing hardware, testing the hardware at specified testing conditions, and reporting on the findings of the test.
