Nick helped me get my break into IT at KFOR-TV when he suggested that I apply for an open IT Engineer position. While working with Nick, it became immediately clear that he had a serious passion for what he does. His constant push for improving the quality of his work served as an example in my own pursuit to improve my skills. He frequently looked to the positive side of a situation. Even in the face of a setback, Nick openly reflected on ways we could learn from the situation. He always put the station, it’s users, and our viewers first. Working alongside him made me a better engineer. It didn’t take long for Nick’s years of experience and technical talent to be noticed when the Directory of Technology position opened. In that role he shined as a leader of the engineering team and the station. His promotion came early in the planning phase of a new building project to replace our aging station. The project moved along smoothly and the transition from old to new building went about as well as anyone could have hoped. Under Nick’s leadership and attention to detail, KFOR-TV has been positioned for success for decades to come. Nick trusted me and gave me the latitude to solve problems as I saw fit. In addition to solving problems, Nick gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to play a key technical role in the design and implementation of technical systems in the building project. This opportunity gave me the space to grow my skills and my own ability to lead the IT team. Nick frequently identified ways to create that space for members of his team to grow. You will not find a leader that cares more about their team than Nick. He's a great friend, co-worker, and an excellent leader. I’d work for or with him again if geography allowed it!
