As a Teach Plus Fellow, I received monthly module training on various aspects of education policy including meetings with superintendents, congressmen, executive branch leaders. Additionally, I gained experience in testifying at ISBE listening tours and participating in various state-level working groups. My policy focus was around the implementation of ESSA in Illinois, for which my group published the brief "A Seat at the Table" which highlighted areas of concerns for teachers around the new law's implementation. As of Dec 2016, five of our six recommendations were included in the latest draft of the state law. Show less

Pritzker College Prep is a campus of the Noble Street Network of Charter Schools. In my capacity as Lead Teacher, I planned and executed a curriculum for Biology and AP Biology, as well as led a teaching team of 12 grade level teachers.

As head coach, I was able to impact academic and critical thinking development of 50+ high school athletes through sport. The program was expanded to one of the largest in the city over five years. I led a coaching staff of three; responsibilities included practice and game strategy design, player and coach accountability, team social event planning, mentoring. Players from the most recent class have gone on to attend Stanford, UofI, University of Michigan among others.
