Works closely with a wide range of Non-Governmental Organizations, governmental, and other partners in Colorado and throughout the West to influence conservation policy. • Responsible for organizing and executing a number of grassroots and grass-tops strategies in the West to further the objectives of the following TRCP program initiatives: backcountry conservation and responsible energy development. • Organize TRCP partners, outdoor-related businesses, and conservation organizations into a unified voice for the conservation of our fish and wildlife resources and public lands. • Work with TRCP communications employees to generate on-going press coverage through media cultivation, story pitches, opposite editorials, letters to the editor, editorials, paid advertising, and other activities within mainstream media, wildlife conservation-specific publications, and online communications. • Use GIS tools to monitor public land oil and gas lease sales in nine Western states (CO, WY, MT, ID, WA/OR, NV, NM, and UT) analyzing Sage grouse habitat, proposed Bureau of Land Management Backcountry Conservation Areas, and big game migratory and winter habitats for conflicts. Work with other TRCP staff, partners, and agency staff as needed to best address conflicts. • Serve as the Sportspeople for Responsible Energy Development (SFRED) implementation team representative for the TRCP. • Provide additional support for energy policy analysis, interpretation, and public input as needed.
