Following retirement from the operational service I have returned to a previous role I undertook in my earlier career of a Fire Safety Inspecting Officer.I am now based at the Central Hub Fire Safety Office at Wokingham Fire Station. In my role I carry fire safety audits to ensure that people will be safe from fire in a very wide variety of occupied buildings and provide advice where the fire safety standard needs to be improved. I also review plans for building work to ensure that at the design stage any new buildings or building work to existing buildings will meet the required fire safety standards.
