Kirchhoff Automotive is a Tier 1 supplier for GM that provides the front radiator support for all GM SUVs. I am the process engineer that over sees our laser welding process. I also support their robotic Mig welding process, robotic spot welding process, robotic Laser welding process, as well as their in house Ecoat system. My job includes updating, and editing process flow charts (SOS-JES) as well as PFMEA'S. I over see all work on all jigs for the GOR process, as well as preventative maintenance on all the welding cells. I support 10 6 axis ABB IRC-5 robots. I give support to all weld fixturing as well as maintaining pneumatic cylinders, sensors, clamping mechanisms, all electrical connections from the PLC to the tooling, and diagnosing basic PLC problems using Allen Bradley software. During my time here I have increased my knowledge in the laser welding process. I also took part in building prototype laser programs for new tooling at our HQ in Canada. Our facility's uses Trumpf TruDisk 6602 and Trumpf PFO G2. Im very familiar with TruControl and TruTops which are the programs used for this process. -I am starting my 6th yr with a new role as a Process Engineer. We are developing a new program for GM. I oversee all of design reviews including cell and tooling builds. I’m heavily involved in layout plans that include micro and macro layouts for material flow coming in, going to process, and finished product going out. I’ve also play a role In managing our new facility that this program will be utilizing. Those roles include being involve with all of the infrastructure of the building as well as organizing locations of all machines with the integrators. The program will involve spot welding with WTC controllers containing RAFT and Soft Q programs, projection welding, drawn arc welding with Tucker controllers, as well as SCA sealant and adhesive applications. Robotics will all be 6 axis Fanuc Robots with IB controllers. This will be my 4th launch of a new program. Show less
