Event ambassador/Game Day Operations
-
Jan 2022 - Present
At the San Jose Earthquakes, I have worked two different positions since starting in January. First, I started by working as an event ambassador who mainly would perform usher/safety advisor duties for a section that fit up to 2500 people. In the section that I oversaw, it was standing-room only and some of the typical days faced many challenges. Some typical challenges during the summer would include passing out water and helping individuals who are struggling because some people would pass out from heat exhaustion, during the winter, sometimes individuals would get too rowdy or have altercations between each other and I would step in to de-escalate situations between them. Around May, when there was openings with game day operations I would fill in on some shifts with that department. For game day operations, I would typically help run all events that happen within the soccer game, from Kids walking out with the players for the national anthem to being on the stretcher crew carrying hurt players back to their bench. With the time I've spent with the Earthquakes I have learned the inner workings of a large sports organization and acquired many de-escalation tactics along with adaptability.

May 2022 - Aug 2022
Over the summer of 2022, I went back home to Orange County and began working as a Sales Associate in the Woman's Shoes Department of Nordstrom in Brea, California. I joined as a seasonal position and was mainly hired to assist with the chaos of Nordstrom's famous Anniversary Sale. Over the span of 3 months, I sold over $180,000 worth of product and ensured customer satisfaction in every single way. A typical day at Nordstrom for me included, sorting thousands of items of inventory and organizing a stockroom with thousands of products, selling shoes to customers, with multiple customers at one time, answering questions about fashion and giving advice to customers about non-shoe related topics, and interacting and working with 30 other sales people on staff. My time at nordstrom may have been a short span of time, but I typically worked over 40 hours a week in those three months and learned a lot from the position. Some of the main skills I acquired with the position was patience and understanding of all kinds of people.
