This role allowed me to amalgamate all the skills I have developed in my career including the pre planning, execution and delegation of jobs in an aesthetically, efficient way. I have had the opportunity to price and plan jobs with delegation of time and bodies. I have also taken the role as mentor for many apprentices that have been with us and successfully guided them through their work. This role was initially out of my comfort zone but I quickly propelled myself in this sector due to a combination of skills I learnt from previous jobs. During this job I was involved in machinery moves and also served as a welder for vehicles, test rigs and lifting equipment which went through correct testing procedures. Eventually supervising jobs this allowed me to further my experience in leadership giving me confidence to excel when leading others. Steel fabricator

Apr 2014 - Jan 2015
My time at Leask was brought about on an extended trip to New Zealand, this job allowed me the ability to learn about the pre planning and then execution of my engineering on a more academic level. During this time, I perfected my skills as a welder / fabricator and gained many hours experience on the use of forklifts and lifting equipment such as a gantry crane. My time as a naval engineer really shaped the person I am today, during this time I undertook an advanced apprenticeship in marine engineering covering a mass of skills including diesel engines, gas turbines, lp/hp air, lp/hp salt and freshwater, refrigeration, heating and many other engineering practices. Being involved in countless difficult operations at sea stranded with no outside support provided me with a remarkable ability to adapt and provide solutions when none seem possible.
