Part time assistant game manager on a family friends game farm in the karoo. Helped manage the roads and fences as well as track and monitor the wildlife. Built and placed feeding stations and water troughs during the dry seasons. Plowed a large piece of land for the growing and cultivation of Lusern for the animals to feed on during the dry seasons, a lot of planning went into the design of the plantation with an irrigation system that is set to a timer and water pipes that are sunk down to the roots of the plants to minimize water loss. I have gained so much experience working on this game farm from; working with people to working with the wildlife to driving all different types of offroad vehicles and the conservation of nature. I worked at Aquila during my job shadowing for school and during my time there I got to experience a whole lot of jobs based around nature conservation not only as a game ranger taking people out on guided vehicle tours but also working hands on with the wildlife in the reserve and in the rehabilitation section of the reserve working with both plant and animal species. During this time I was able to grow my love and passion for nature and also my drive to pursue a career in nature conservation.
