Fire Inspecting is a challenging position. Going into all businesses and looking for potential fire hazards, working exit doors/ lights,fire alarms, sprinkler systems and ensuring clear pathways,are in order if a fire were to occur. This is just a few of the hazards I look for. Depending on the violation businesses get one day to 30 days to fix the hazard. With over 750 businesses in the community it is a goal to get to each one inspected once a year, but also go back if they need a re inspection. I work under the direct supervision of the Fire Marshal and report my findings both positive and negative to him. In the event of a fire or multiple EMS calls I will help the firefighters when and where I'm needed. I also work with the bushiness and residential Knox Boxes to keep them updated so the firefighters can have better access when needed. Show less
