Assisted in a study to compare the resilience of urban and rural streams a simulated disturbance. We used a backpack electroshocker to remove fish from a stream reach to simulate a local-scale disturbance (we moved those fish to a different watershed). We resampled each location at regular intervals to determine what fish species had returned and how quickly the fish communities rebounded from the disturbance.
