  I was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to fulfil the role of Foreign Language Teaching Assistant and was placed in Davidson-Davie Community College. My role here has been to teach the Irish language on campus as well as to be an ambassador for Ireland. This means that I have worked hard this year in teaching not only the language but also different aspects of Irish culture while also learning about American culture. This school is a DEIS school and so the experience was very fulfilling and enjoyable to work in an environment that is passionate about supporting and encouraging the students in the school. The supply teacher position allowed me to gain experience in a wide range of schools (this position placed me in 20 different schools around Dublin) such as special schools, Gaelscoileanna, Multi-Denominational schools, Educate together schools, special units within schools as well as different positions such as EAL and SEN.
