I advise both businesses and workers on their rights and obligations in relation to the legislation I am responsible for enforcing, the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (as amended). I am responsible for educating and engaging stakeholders regarding their legal responsibilities and ensure their daily business practises are legally compliant. I ensure compliance with the above legislation by leading inspections of employment businesses and employment agencies across Great Britain. I also manage my own caseload of complaints to ensure workers rights are upheld in accordance with the legislation I am responsible for enforcing. Show less

I was responsible for execution and implementation of benefit policy. I managed a caseload of up to and over 100 Universal Credit claimants, who had a variety of needs and goals. I managed my diary effectively to coach all claimants to help them achieve their individual goals, from gaining employment, to finding housing, to accessing funding to start up their new business. I collaborated with stakeholders in delivering employment support and helped claimants to transition into employment where appropriate. I also regularly conducted reviews of benefit entitlement. I identified fraud and error in a bid to protect the public purse and report accurately to the relevant local Counter Fraud and Compliance department. I was the office self-employment expert coaching some claimants launch their own business, access available funding and training, and encourage claimants to ensure their business was self-sufficient within the 12 month start-up grace period. I would also conduct constructive conversations with self-employed claimants that were not earning at least National Minimum Wage following 12 months of trading on whether the business was viable as they were still financially dependent on Universal Credit. My approach would be to strongly encourage all self-employed claimants to be self-sufficient and encourage an evaluation on how the business could improve financially. Show less
