From the 21st to the 31st of August 2018 and again from the 24th to the 28th June 2019 I completed work experience within the council with their Valuation Team in Asset Management. During this time I worked amongst Chartered Surveyors and gained refined knowledge about the work they do and it allowed me to gain first-hand experience. I went out on several different sites with the Surveyors, including residential sites, commercial sites and industrial sites. In addition, I also analysed data, dealt with confidential information and drew up leases and loans for buildings and houses for the council. This required me to use complex programming and sketch tools to complete this. Not only did I gain hands on experience within this area, I also saw myself gain more confidence and was able to present myself in a formal and professional manner. This work experience made me discover I was passionate about this field of work and it is what I hope to find myself doing in the future. Show less

From June 12th 2017 to June 18th I undertook a weeks worth of work experience in the legal department within South Tyneside Council. During this time, I worked amongst a variety of different lawyers and solicitors and gained an understanding as to the different types of law within the council. These different types of laws which I developed basic knowledge in included land law, crime law and property law. As well as broadening my learning, I also expanded my time-keeping skills as I was given tasks to undergo by different lawyers and also my ability to undergo myself in a professional manner.
