  The goal of the Industry Relations Officer (IRO) is expected to establish and manage a strong, positive identity for the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) and support relationships with industry stakeholders and leverage these relationships in order to realize the organizational goals and objectives. The IRO communicates with industry members, stakeholders and the community to identify problem areas, encourages industry engagement and interaction, generate positive outcomes and resolutions/key actions for the success of the tourism sector. The IRO will actively encourage dialogue, participation and feedback from the industry to improve the quality of service the BTB offers. Also, communication and dissemination of accurate and timely information to industry bodies will promote and facilitate local partnerships, as well as, educate both BTB and the community as to how they can preserve, protect, and interpret the community’s assets to drive tourism.
