For over three years, I led the implementation of trauma-informed curriculum and practices at 916 Ink. As program coordinator, I led evaluative measures and develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum for the Find Your Voice program, serving youth in 3rd-12th grade. I support in mentoring and training facilitators serving students in trauma-impacted spaces, including alterative school settings and youth detention facilities in northern California. Program Evaluation and Analysis: This part of the position is central and includes developing and the creation of the Site Report Card; collaboration to create multiple evaluative reports; communicate with site coordinators; creating content for marketing and future funding; analyzing multiple data points; collecting facilitator feedback and site feedback and altering curriculum as needed, based on these findings. Curriculum Creation and Design: One of my favorite parts of my role is creating new content; altering current content by grade level and site; and designing and implementing trauma-informed practices and curriculum content. Project Based Document Design: Another area that brings my joy in my role is project-based document design for trainings, surveys; communication; and curriculum.
Creative Writing Facilitation: Because I have never stopped being a teacher or educator, I create curriculum for 3rd-12th grade, including adult content for youth up to 25 years in age; collect and analyze surveys; and lead weekly facilitation, which involves student writing collection; manuscript composure; editing; and meeting all close of programming requirements. 916 Ink Facilitation: I collaborate with FYV Programming team to create trainings and facilitate trainings. Graduate Writing Consultant

During my time as a graduate writing consultant, I designed and lead writing workshops for graduate and doctoral students. I reviewed graduate thesis and dissertations in all disciplines including, but not limited to law, medicine, and education. Beyond consulting students on writing and research, I reviewed thesis and dissertation format prior to acceptance and publication on ProQuest. For five years, I had the privilege of teaching secondary English to middle school and high school students, and to guide students as a college professor in Stockton and Sacramento. As a high performing educator, I often lead programs, like initiating English Composition college courses and designed, led, and implemented student Exhibition projects for 7th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. I often developed and led curriculum for multiple grade levels. Ensured curriculum is culturally relevant and included social-emotional learning. Application of Curriculum and Educational Policy/Curriculum Development and Instructional Methods: Developed and implemented lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with California State Standards and Aspire Instructional Guidelines. Evaluation: Assessed students regularly, refined and differentiated classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs. Adjusted curriculum as needed to meet student needs. This included the ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data.Community Building: Communicated regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in their child’s education. I founded a spoken word collective in Stockton called “No Dreams Deferred” and organized and hosted an annual open mic event. Student Centric Approach: Identified unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practices throughout the school including meeting student needs for students with IEPs; English learners; and migrant students.
