  Nashulai Maasai Conservancy is arguably the first nature conservancy to be created by the local Maasai community members themselves . This was out of a realisation that , local problems needed local solutions and foremost among them was to save community land from threats which would result in it getting lost forever . Nashulai conservancy means a place where people ,livestock and wildlife lives harmoniously with each other with interlinked hope that there can only be balance if there is harmony which assures survival to all. Nashulai is a mixed model conservancy where the ecosystem is shared by people and the commons .
